Legal
Terms of Use
Effective October 11, 2026
Agreement
Your use of the Slay the Board iOS app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA), together with the terms below. By using the app you agree to them.
Subscriptions
The app is free to download with free questions in every topic. Premium is offered as a weekly, monthly, or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Prices are shown in the app and set by the App Store for your region.
Cancelling
You can manage or cancel your subscription from the app (Settings > Manage subscription) or in your App Store account settings (iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions). Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Educational study aid
Slay the Board is an educational study aid only. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology (NIC) or any state board. Questions are original practice material, not actual exam questions.
No guarantee of passing
We do not guarantee that using the app will result in passing any exam or getting a license. Readiness scores are estimates to guide your studying.
Check with your state board
Licensing rules, exams, and passing scores vary by state and change over time, and some states give their own exams. Always confirm requirements with your state board. Nothing in the app is legal or medical advice.
Limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app's publisher is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the app, including exam results. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
